Two post-doc positions<\/strong> available in the TEAM-NET project at AGH University in Krakow!<\/p>\n + Post-doc 1<\/a> 2019-11-27<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n A new member has joined the group!<\/p>\n Monika<\/strong> <\/a>received her PhD in chemistry in 2016 (Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics, AGH University of Science and Technology). Her work involved research on polysiloxane networks as supports in catalysis.<\/p>\n Two weeks ago she received funding from Polish National Science Centre (Miniatura 3 project<\/strong><\/a>). She will study the interaction of organo-smectites with polysiloxane networks and properties of the obtained composite materials.<\/p>\n Looking forward to see first results.<\/p>\n 2019-09-18<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The members of our group spent a busy September attending two conferences.<\/p>\n European Conference on Mineralogy and Spectroscopy<\/strong><\/a> was held in Prague, Czech Republic (11-13.09.2019). The meeting brought together theoretically and experimentally oriented scientists. It was preceded by Jana2006 Workshop on refinement crystal structures. Karolina and Paulina presented the following topics:<\/p>\n Karolina<\/strong> -> The effect of M(II)\/M(III) molar ratio on the LDH structure derived from chemicals and minerals: a spectroscopic study using FTIR, Raman and XPS<\/p>\n Paulina<\/strong> -> Halloysite-supported iron oxide particles for As(V) removal: adsorption mechanism investigation by the XPS and M\u00f6ssbauer spectroscopy<\/p>\n Abstracts can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Our group also participated in a 4th Polish Conference on Mineral Adsorbents<\/strong><\/a> organized by Tomasz. The conference helps to establish a collaboration between scientists and industrial partners.<\/p>\n The following presentations were given:<\/p>\n Karolina<\/strong> -> Characterization of hydrotalcite\/pyroaurite-like anion adsorbents derived from magnesite and dolomite.<\/p>\n Paulina M.<\/strong> -> Enhanced sulphate removal by precipitation and adsorption using Ca(OH)2 and synthetic layered double hydroxide: acid mine drainage case study.<\/p>\n Magdalena W.<\/strong> -> Produkty odpadowe jako alternatywne sorbenty metali ci\u0119\u017ckich \u2013 przegl\u0105d.<\/p>\n Monika<\/strong> -> Redukcja barwnik\u00f3w organicznych przy u\u017cyciu nanocz\u0105stek srebra osadzonych na sieciach polisiloksanowych.<\/p>\n Paulina N.<\/strong> -> Materia\u0142y funkcjonalizowane na bazie popio\u0142\u00f3w lotnych aktywowanych \u015bciekami z energetyki zawodowej.<\/p>\n 2019-09-01<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Tomasz<\/strong> has joined the editorial board of a new journal: Experimental Results<\/a> (Cambridge University Press). He will help to evaluate manuscripts in the field of Earth & Environmental Sciences.<\/p>\n We are looking forward for the first manuscripts!<\/p>\n 2019-07-06<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Another EuroClay<\/strong><\/a> conference is over with tons of interesting talks and posters covering the topics devoted to clay science and technology. The meeting took place at the Pierre & Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie University (UPMC) in Paris (France) and gathered over 600 scientists.<\/p>\n Most importantly our group members have received awards from the Clay Minerals Organizations!<\/p>\n Paulina Maziarz<\/strong> \u2013> 1st prize for the best poster presentation awarded by AIPEA All the abstracts can be found on the conference website<\/a>.<\/p>\n Looking forward to next meetings.<\/p>\n 2019-06-26<\/span> Jakub will serve as Guest Editor of the Special Issue in Materials Journal<\/strong><\/a> \u201eLayered Double Hydroxides (LDH) and LDH-based hybrid composites\u201d. Click the image to get more information on the covered topics.<\/p>\n 2019-04-17<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The Foundation for Polish Science announced the results of the first TEAM-NET competition<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n A network of research units from Lublin University of Technology, AGH University and University of Warsaw received funding<\/strong> for interdisciplinary scientific research.
